Re: updated to 2.x and now don't have access to audio on win

No and I don't think that's what happened. It's not unusual for USB sound devices to scramble Windows Audio. When you plug a turntable in, it will try to grab both the record and the playback. If you're not ready for that, it will seem that all the sound on the computer failed. Audacity will also tr...

Re: Recording Issues...

Windows comes with software and settings to try and suppress room noise when you're voice conferencing. Those settings are deadly for music.

Re: Importing wav music file but not in stereo

Make sure your Audacity preferences are stereo and not mono.

Edit > Preferences > Devices > Recording.

Re: No recording is occuring

Did you make a Skype call between the first and second recordings? Sometimes Skype reassigns sound pathways and doesn't put them back. Use the Device Pulldown menu and see if you're still recording from where you think you are. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/device_toolbar.html Also: http://ma...

Re: background noise

What kind of noise is it? Hiss?

Re: Is this at all possible?

There may be a way to help. Select the track by clicking inside the left hand label panel and using the dropdown menus, Split Stereo Track. Select the bottom of the two tracks and Effect > Invert. Select the top track and using the dropdowns, Make Stereo Track. Now try the Vocal Removal tools again....

Re: HELP WITH c.au

Audacity will not save a sound file. If you do want a sound file that will play in other programs and computers, you have to export one. File > Export > Format WAV, Microsoft 16-bit. Then pick a name for your file. That will give you a WAV sound file which will play on other computers. You can make ...
