Re: My voice recording starts to jitter half way through the
What you're intended to do is produce the podcast in short controlled segments and then push the segments together into a finished, polished show for presentation. This helps with those gaps, sneezes, phone calls, dogs barking and other interruptions that you probably have now. Edit them out. We sho...

Re: MicPort Pro - "swirly" audio sound
What settings have I missed? The one where you tell Windows to stop processing the sound to "help" you. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#enhancements This may not be the only place to find this stuff, but that's the usual suspect. Windows is always t...

Re: make voice sound angry (or stern)
if this can be done with the series of LADSPA plug-ins, can someone provide step-by-step??? It can't be done with any kind of plugin. Yes, we would be able to provide a step-by-step if there was a plugin. That's called acting. Most times when people want us to turn their voices into something else ...

Re: can not get track to play
What's the background noise? Two problems kill people right at the top: Background noise is really foreground noise and the voices are incidental to the presentation, and "noise" is really room echo. Echoes are permanent and desirable voices have to be the predominant fraction of the show....

Re: Audacity will not record podcasts
If I record from my USB source Which is what, exactly? It's always something of a leap to convince people that if they have blue waves on the timeline and the green sound meters are jumping to the appropriate level that they have a good show whether or not they can hear it. We take it upside down f...

Re: UAC alert
Details are good. Which other programs do it and which don't?
Audacity doesn't respond to "reinstallation." You have to also change some preference files that get left behind.

Re: Graham wishes help with editing, thanks.
I am still having problems recording over my mistakes. This is a bit of a concept shift the first time somebody goes into recording their own work. Nobody gets it right the first time, but very few people stop in the middle of a word to do it over. Audacity has no provision for "Crash Editing&...

Start with a fresh Audacity and Generate > Noise for three seconds. Can you play all three seconds?
