Re: Sound on Vision in a .WAV File
Also, the sound clip we have has "audio" way out to 30KHz and 40KHz. That's most unusual. Were you in a location that had radio transmission equipment? Were you set up right next to somebody that had multiple radio microphones? Were you recording at 48000? There's a notch in the frequency ...

Re: Sound on Vision in a .WAV File
Maybe here's a clue here. The choppiness is regular 161Hz, 326Hz and 481Hz. So something is vibrating or oscillating at 161 times second and putting square wave holes in the sound. Can you point us to a web site for exactly the Zoom you have? Were you using the Zoom built-in microphones, or external...

Re: Sound on Vision in a .WAV File
Way at the end there's evidence of serious data loss -- over and above the obvious chopiness of the sound. The recorder may be getting to a particular loudness level and then "forgetting" how to digitize briefly. Batteries, broken Zoom (hard to believe, but it does happen) or bad data card...

Re: Can't filter grinder noise completely
-- You must log in to use the download feature. -- You have probably gone about as far as you can. Noise Removal doesn't "know" what noise is. All it does is take your profile and try to create sharp, precision filters that remove it. Then, without forgetting the profile, it tries to use t...

Re: trouble setting up 2.0.2 to record iphone voicemail
my desktop PC Not Windows Laptop? Can you plug your earbuds or headphones into that iPhone connection and hear the messages? You should be plugged into the blue connection of your sound card. It should say Stereo Line-In or have a fan with an arrow pointing in. Some soundcards are not blue, but mos...

Re: Editing digital voice recorder file... Help!!
Here's the telephone filter executed as a manual filter in Effect > Equalization.

The blue line is a rubber band and you can click and push it around.
It should do the same thing.

Re: Editing digital voice recorder file... Help!!
I'm just new to this. No. Probably not. Audacity is not a forensics program. We can't start from a barely recognizable hash of garbage and pull a voice out of it, particularly if the trash is moving or changing over time. Two tools that may help are the telephone filter. Effect > Hi Pass Filter set...

Re: Am I doing something wrong?
Can you get the volume to go down using the speaker symbol slider -- playback volume in the Audacity toolbar? If you have nice bouncing meters and blue waves... http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/Audacity1_playback.jpg ...then you have a perfect recording and it's a computer playback problem. I'm not on...

You should not be so upset that you forget to tell us enough about your computer so we can help you. You're on Linux, right?

Re: Plugin - auto-cut and auto-rendering to two formats.
Probably not. Even if you could program, Audacity doesn't apply filters, effects, or tools in real time. It only does three things in real time: record, play, and timer. Everything else is post production.
After you make a recording, do this and that.
