Re: Recording mic audio and desktop audio
Audacity will only record from one thing at a time. So that's the first problem. The next problem is more interesting. Chat or communications programs take over your machine while they're working. It's the only way they can work without causing distortion or howling feedback. Sometimes you can get a...

Re: ACX Check Shows Noise Floor Still Too High, RMS & Peak Passing
Your microphone or microphone system is broken. It has low voice volume, killer high electronic noise (fffffff) and a defect called "DC Offset."
What's the microphone and how do you have it connected?

Re: ACX Check Shows Noise Floor Still Too High, RMS & Peak Passing
Seems to be well-behaved noise, just tons of it. I need to open it on a different machine.

Re: Importing Raw Data into Audacity
import RGB data You know this is an audio program, right? Not picture or video. Does it sample each pixel, row or column? Raw is an adventure. You have to tell it all the stuff that normally appears in the file header. It assumes the file header is damaged and can't be read. So it sees a pile of un...

Re: How to record radio show with music + mic breaks

Save your screens, messages, and interactions with ACX. It's the only way we have, other than trying to publish an actual book, to build an experience or real-world interaction process so to warn others. Not published yet.

Re: Recording over 2 hours long
Are you an already published reader? ACX quietly removed many of the on-ramps for new authors, readers, and author-readers.
There is the Amazon requirement and apparently, there is no more Cold Audition.

Re: Audacity records only from end of prior recording.
R Record and Shift+R Start-a-new-track are reversed. By massive vote, people wanted default Record to take up where they left off, not start a whole new track. You can just use them that way, or reverse them back to the old way in Audacity Preferences > Recording. There is also Punch and Roll which ...

Re: Recording over 2 hours long
It's not unusual for home readers to fail environment noise. You can submit a short test to the forum and we can look at it. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/TestClip/Record_A_Clip.html Don't do anything to it. No volume corrections, filters or effects. Shorten it if you need to by cutting and po...
