Re: CD burned Audacity plays on computer but not on CD playe
You may have burned a Data CD and not a Music CD. The Data CD is like a little hard drive. You can put anything on it you want; spreadsheets, Photoshop pictures, and sound data files. Re: Loud Beep at regular intervals
It's feedback. We had one Win7 machine do that. If you listen carefully, there is a low disturbance sounding all the time in the show, but it's usually low enough to ignore. Every so often, it goes regenerative and produces a full-volume beep which then settles down into background trash again. We r...

Re: intermittent pops generated by audacity recording
It's a set of contradictory symptoms. That's an analog error, but the poster is using USB microphones, more than one. Also the problem is described as a pop rather than a digital "tick" or " sharp click." The only way you can get that series of symptoms is from a bad 5volt servic...

Auto-Tune will not correct a portion of a song that's "high and squeaky." There's something about this we don't understand. Koz

For one example, Pamela for Skype/Windows will record both sides of a Skype conversation clearly and on separate tracks. Koz

Re: Trying to record What I Hear and my Mic
is it possible to record both the mic and speakers at once? Not with plain Windows and Audacity, no. We set up a machine to record all the voices in a conference and we did it with a separate, non-speaking machine connected to the network. In that case, all the valuable voices were coming in over t...

Re: New user version and 'skipping' questions...
Real Time Recording is very stressful for a computer. Perfectly normal computers that do Photoshop and Excel Spreadsheets fall face-first in the mud the first time they're asked to do real-time recording or playback -- or in the case of Overdubbing, both at once.
