Re: INSTANT AUDIO

My crystal ball is in the shop. What exactly are you doing that gives you a fade in instead of a clean start? Koz

Re: how do I record phone interviews

Yes, the broadcast people have the advantage of a multi-bus mixing console to take advantage of the split feeds. The grownups even have a special service called "mix-minus." The caller hears everything going on in the live radio or TV show except themselves (which would echo and cause all ...

Re: Continuity digitizing audio tapes

If you happen to be sitting there at the end of side one, you can Record Pause, flip the tape over, start it and release Pause. If you happen to miss it, you can Record Pause anyway, and just go in later in a simple edit process and remove the gap. Continue recording and stop the tape and flip it an...

Re: Unable to record due to loud constant sound

What are you recording from? Audacity > Preferences > Devices > Input.

You don't reinstall Audacity by reinstalling Audacity. You reset a preference file.

Re: recording from headphone jack on my yamaha piano

Plug everything together and then start Audacity. Use the input dropdown on the toolbar to select USB Audio Input for recording (your name may be different). The UCA202 has the additional advantage that you can do sound-on-sound overdubbing with it. The wiring is slightly different if you do that. h...

Re: recording from headphone jack on my yamaha piano

I use the headphone out of my 505 and split it two ways. One split goes to the powerful sound system and the other split goes to the stereo line-in connection of my Mac. Most Windows systems don't have stereo Line-In, of they do, it's trash, so for them we generally recommend the UCA202 or equivalen...

Re: Interference

Most laptop Mic-In connections are profoundly unsatisfactory for dubbing. They easily overload and they're mono, not stereo.

Re: Recording DJ mixes using Citronic ac-1usb via hi-fi. HEL

See, this isn't a yes or no answer. Somebody has to download and read all your instruction books, interpret your wishes and then figure out the best configuration. This isn't something we can do between other emails.

Re: Why only one channel recording?

That's not visible to me. On the Audacity main screen look at the pulldowns to select the recording source (microphone symbol) and right next to that, you can select mono/stereo. If all that's correct, make sure the plug behind your iMac is all the way in. Audacity > Preferences > Recording > [X] Pl...
