Re: DC offset trickery
I have three now, StarTech ICUSBAudio devices.

Apparently, I got one that is just broken. It produces significant DC Offset in the recorded signal. It's going out in the rubbish.

Re: DC offset trickery
I'm not sure how you got the original waves. To get DC offset in the original show, the coil, diaphragm or ribbon would have to leave the microphone and slowly walk toward or away from the performer. There was and may still be a school exercise where you created a theoretically perfect music system ...

Re: Flat mp3 frequency response in an automobile
I see two problems right away. Unless you have an extraordinarily quiet and well behaved car, you don't want "flat." You want the equalization, boost and dips that compensate for the road noise, so in that sense, yes, a curve that does that would help. In an effort to make things more conv...

Re: Buzzing from Soundboard input

The buzz and other distortions are much more normal. You need to plug your stereo plug into the blue Line-In not t...

Re: Cutting out noise spikes
There are software packages that can recognize and treat clicks and pops. Your timeline will behave like that if you have Snap To selected at the bottom of the window.

Re: Normalize not working
Normalize and Amplify are not loudness tools. They're arithmetic tools. "Increase the size of the blue waves until the highest peak reaches 0 (or wherever you set)." That's it. If one of the peaks in your performance is already at 0 (maximum) the tool won't do anything. This can be anythin...

Re: I Need to make a Airplane PA system effect!?
When you cut the piece, get too close to the microphone and act bored. That and make clunking and clicking hand-held microphone noises. I don't know any effect that can simulate that. After that, apply any filter. Literally. All it has to do is be different -- not sound like the rest of the dialog. ...

Re: Distortion When Multiple Audio Tracks Are Used
Having that on means you were recording some of your tracks twice, doubling the volume. That's usually accompanied with recording Stereo Mix instead of a microphone. Koz

We don't want to be messing with file structure on your show.
