Re: Deessing long audio clips for podcast purposes
I think I got it down to your normal crisp delivery. That better? DeEssing-WAV-Sample-Patched.mp3 There's two goals. Set overall volume and get rid (as much as possible) of the Essing distortion. I'm getting the instructions and graphics ready. The first pass through this is going to look like rocke...

Post back if you're doing any of these things wrong. That may go a long way to improving the gritty quality.

Re: Deessing long audio clips for podcast purposes
You should be in cardioid (heart-shaped pattern) set on the back of the microphone. This helps suppress noises arriving from the rear such as traffic...and room echoes.

Re: Deessing long audio clips for podcast purposes
Making minute edits to every episode is going to be too time consuming for me to do on a weekly basis. I think we can do better than that. That's thermonuclear essing. Are you sure you're using your Yeti right? The early Yeti microphones didn't tell you how to use them and there are tons of vlogs a...

Here's a hint. Notice you posted and I posted a response 19 minutes later. This is not a "normal" forum. We have active elves over 9 time zones and the only reason you may not get a response is you asked something really weird, or you [ahem] double posted.

Re: Total Neophyte Needs Help Getting Started Recording my Tracks for an Audiobook
Stress two questions: Who, exactly , is going to do the word-by-word corrections and editing. That's the part that can take days and days for each chapter. And how, exactly how , are you going to shoot the book over Zoom? That's the part that feels like somebody making it up as they go. How many oth...

Also, I don't know if this is obviously posted anywhere, the Lifter needs phantom power to run. So whatever you plug the Lifter into has to supply 48 volts. Screen Shot 2021-04-12 at 12.23.16 PM.png The Lifter uses it up. That's important. Whatever you plug into the lifter (It doesn't have to be a S...

Re: beeping noise coming up in recording
Rode intended you to plug your NT1a into their AI-1 instead of the Solo. Since your experiment of unplugging the NT1a and having the noise vanish, I'm convinced that the Solo is allowing USB negotiation noises (beeping) to be sent to the microphone via the 48V service. The AI-1 is less likely to do ...

Re: beeping noise coming up in recording
I'm pleased to see the rumpled mass. The worst you can do is carefully coil a microphone cable up and place it next to something with electronic radiation. Begging for trouble. I'm looking for specs on the Rode AI-1 (Audio Interface Number One). Yes, I know it's a respectable microphone interface, e...
