Re: generated sound plays when played on media player
That may just be a bad combination of events. Generate > Noise can be misleading. Pink noise in particular is the same noise that a weak or bad microphone makes. So you could have created a hiss sound and saved it as a file and then tried to record a hissy microphone. They would have sounded the sam...

Yamaha G1 appears to be a golf cart. Is there any other model number on your keyboard? Include a web link. Most (but not all) keyboards connect to a computer with USB to make the MIDI machine control work, not transfer music. Press a key on your computer and the keyboard makes a sound. The MIDI is &...

Re: How do I import voicemail from iPhone 4 to Audacity?
You can install the FFMpeg software into your Audacity and it may open up your iPhone sound files -- if that's what they are. I don't have an iPhone, so we have to trust you. http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=FAQ:Installation_and_Plug-Ins#installffmpeg Then, when you have your sounds lo...

Re: Constant High Pitch Hum
What's your USB device? You seem to have a jumble of symptoms. That may have been caused by one tiny thing that exploded into a series of patches that conflict. If you turn up a USB connection far enough, chances are you may hear a digital whine, but that's supposed to be so low that nobody hears it...

Re: Accidental Overdub
Can you describe how you did that? Audacity will not back up a little bit and start recording.
If you have two or more blue waves and timelines, then yes, use the Time Shift Tool (sideways black arrows), select the second show and push it to the right.

Re: Flat mp3 frequency response in an automobile
I believe he did. Easiest might be to write down the EQ settings the unit suggests and manually enter those into Audacity's Equalization effect. Audacity EQ curves are stored in XML. These are stored in the same place at Audacity's preferences http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Preferences#stored Yo...

Not automatic or easily. That's why when you make a fluff you should correct it immediately and put an on-the-fly label on the timeline so you can go back later and swap/cut as needed. This will let you make the correction while you have the rhythm, pitch, and style right there ^ pitch, rhythm, volu...

Some of them will let you right-click > Save As. Some of them you have to capture live using the Audio Playing on the Computer technique. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_audio_playing_on_the_computer.html But they are all going to be very highly compressed and unlikely to sur...

Re: Fixing inconsistent audio levels.
Rerecording generally demands the same conditions. We can cure simple level variations, but we can do nothing with a new, different microphone or different rooms and environments. This is why the big kids use studios. "Going back into the studio" is usually just an exercise in finding enou...

Re: Purchasing a Microphone
This is an extraordinarily bad mic test with the Logitech desktop mic. I'm in a very quiet room and I'm not amplified. http://www.kozco.com/tech/MicTests/LogitechMicTest/LogitechMicTest.wav You do need to be careful with amplified guitar. Part of the existence of these things is the ability to move ...
