Re: Enabling Computer Playback Input, Windows 7
Self recording is a software dance between the sound card, operating system and the guy in the back room that writes the software drivers. If any of them drops the ball -- or is ordered to delete the code, then self record is a memory. Self Recording, although right at the top of most casual users' ...

Re: Importing .VOB files ...
I don't know that FFMpeg directly supports MPEG2 embedded audio and/or Video Objects (vob). You may need to use a software package that presents the plain sound file; Dolby Surround, or PCM if available. Then, I believe, FFMpeg and Audacity may be able to open it. You may also need software that can...

Where did you get stuck? Remember we can't see what you're doing. Have you used Audacity before?

Re: strong static sounds when recording multitrack
Does anybody know how to remove the strong static Probably not. It's safe to assume that nobody can fix a bad or damaged track. We have to prevent you from making new ones. It's very important that you follow basic recording rules. Never run the red recording meters all the way up during the perfor...

Re: When I hit stop, it starts play from the beginning
everytime i hit pause or stop, it starts playing from the beginning! Probably not. When you Spacebar Stop, it starts from the beginning, but then you P Pause, it stops dead and picks up right from there. Also anytime you click in the timeline, a new stop point is established. Click half-way down an...

Re: Synchronizing sound to YouTube video.
I can feed the audio straight in No, probably not. You have to put an RIAA amplifier in the chain somewhere. The sound on a vinyl disk is intentionally distorted so the bass notes will fit. When you play the disk back you have to reverse the process to make the music sound right. If you're getting ...

Re: Distorted recording when using overdub
If you like to record YouTube audio or other internet services, you might forget to change your Audacity input back to a physical device and not the internet service. The upshot of that will be multiple recordings of the same thing. Recording track one will give you track one, but recording track tw...

Re: Accidental Overdub
Now that we know a little more about this, I would be able to reproduce your problem by having Audacity Overdubbing selected (which normally doesn't matter) and also be recording from Windows Stereo-Mix or WAV-Out and not an actual physical device like Line-In or Mic-In. Stereo-Mix records everythin...

No.
Once you have two different shows on the same timeline -- came blue waves, you can't split them.
