Re: Multiple microphone mixing?
The transition from one microphone to more than one is the painful step. Computers are designed for single person use and generally support only one microphone or headset. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PCHeadset.jpg That's usually Full Stop. There's no way to plug more than one headset into...

Re: Slowness With Over an Hour of Audio
Audacity is a complete slave to the computer running it. I capture multiple hour long performances and cut and edit them just fine. How much memory do you have? What's the speed of the computer? Windows? Which one? Which Audacity? What's the size of your hard drive and how much space to you have lef...

Re: convert monaural to sterio
It's not up in Tracks. It's to the left of the blue waves in the little black arrow drop-down. You should really tell us what you're doing, I mean really what you're doing. If you have a specific goal, there may be tools to get you there. There are effects to make your guitar "deep" or &qu...

I think that's what we recommended for the new small theater in Vancouver. I don't know if they took us up on it or not. They were making noises about a surround system. KozKRK Rokit Powered 8

Re: Can you recommend websites good for Active Speaker revie
We use the KRK Rokit5 speakers at work, but we don't mix on them. They're part of the business communications system between countries. They sound good, they're self-contained and they're rough to break. We don't mix sound as one of our products. At home I'm using a large component sound system whic...

Re: Can't Record - HELP! (Thanks in advance)
There's a handful of items. Which Audacity do you have? Close Audacity. All the way. Audacity > Quit Audacity. Make sure Apple > Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Input is pointing to the mixer, and Hardware > Sound > Output is pointed to your speakers, built-in-output of wherever you think they shou...

Re: Remove Audience noise
Noise reduction needs noise to be one single tone, buzz, or whine such as a bad microphone cable to be in the background and constant through the whole show. It will not be able to tell the difference between audience voices and the voices of the performers. In addition, the audience voices come and...

Re: convert monaural to sterio
To make you feel better, I deliver all my shoots as two-track mono because I know that's what the client is expecting, even though I shot the performance with one microphone and this shoot will never be anything more than a single voice.
