Re: Podcast Mixer Recommendation
I know this is a different world, but I shot a double header a bunch of months ago. A station at the other end of the state called one of the managers here and they had a nice chat on the office telephone about Hollywood animation and production. He was recording his voice with a studio sound system...

Re: Podcast Mixer Recommendation
Maybe it's a little more complicated than that. Skype likes to take over the computer that's hosting it. That's the only way they can guarantee all the magic environment suppression, echo cancellation and auto volume controls needed for a good, comfortable conversation. So you can establish a conver...

Re: getting the recording right
You should make sure the larger one has a Stereo Line-In. The web page was too hard to use. I think it said that.

Re: getting the recording right
I'm going to give Sweetex a lesson in advert illustration (See pix). As near as I can tell, you're supposed to connect your outside world, turntables, mixer, etc. etc. up to the Sweetex Stereo Line-In (Not Mic-In). Plug the Sweetex USB into the laptop and let it negotiate the connection. This is whe...

Re: Tried to save audacity on dropbox and now can't open it
should definitely have saved my file as an mp3 Or WAV which doesn't cause sound damage like MP3 does. You have Microsoft Word on your Mac? I don't remember any complaints about DropBox trying to interpret the files going through it, but I guess it's possible. The AUP file is a text file. You can op...

Re: getting the recording right
I'm betting you connected your mix deck and turntables into the Mic-In of your Windows Laptop, right? Stop that. The Mic-In of your laptop is mono, not stereo and easily damaged by the wrong sound levels. We've been recommending the Behringer UCA202 for analog stereo interface to your computer. http...

Re: excessive static recording stereo mix
This isn't simple which is why nobody has raced to your rescue so far. What do you mean "hooked up analog?" If you used the crossed cables technique, then you don't need Stereo Mix. You may be inadvertently creating feedback and that's what you're recording. That and you have a very unusua...

In video editors this would be "Clip INFO." I miss it in Audacity.
