Re: Can't turn playthrough off when recording
Sounds like the "improved" soundcards are a step backward. It's not so much the soundcards which are pretty much plain unless you paid extra money, and those who do are celebrities. It's the complexity of the sound pathway. Can you imagine your mum trying to figure this out? (That's dange...

Re: Record at +50% and change speed after?
That and most of the music will be beyond the ability of the stylus to track it. Styluses are designed to move up to about 15,000 times a second or better. Playing a record speeded up gives vibrations well beyond the stylus to track it. You would get music muffled and worse than AM radio quality. Pl...

Re: Having Troubles Recording Audio
I missed the part where you tell us which Windows you have. That's important because Self Recording is much easier in earlier Windows versions than it is in later ones. Also, it's good to hold the concept that self recording is not a guaranteed service like listening to YouTube and lighting up your ...

Re: Infrasound record
Yes, but you won't be recording it directly on your laptop. You'll be recording it with a special microphone or transducer connected to a special low frequency analog to digital converter. As anybody who's gotten burned with this will tell you, Audacity will display any sound down to pure battery vo...

Re: Spectrogram overlap?
If by "Spectrum Overlap" you mean a sloppy representation, yes. That's the default. If you want to try other specifications you can change the settings in Edit > Preferences > Spectrogram.

Re: Inability to export multiple files
I record my LPs as .wav files Probably not. You record your LPs as Audacity's internal sound format. If you want WAV files or any other kind of sound file, you have to File > Export to get them. Or File > Export Multiple, or whichever variation you use. It is recommended that you produce the archiv...

Re: Hype converter
We would normally like a bit more information than that, there are some basics. Plug in the converter, pause, and THEN start Audacity.
Using the Audacity device drop-down, select the USB Device, not any of the Windows built-in services or devices. Yours will look slightly different.

Re: Inability to export multiple files
FFMped does not have anything to do with multiple export. That's done by Audacity. You put a Label at the front of every song you want by itself. Then File > Export Multiple and pick your sound format. [OK]. Audacity creates a pile of sound files according to your labels. FFMpeg allows you many more...
Re: Bit Rate
If you are using a seriously old version of Audacity, the Export dialog will not say that. You will need to change the export bitrate in Audacity Preferences, but before you do that, Save the Project and Export a WAV of the work and upgrade to the latest Audacity. Sooner or later, the older, unstabl...
