Re: Audacity crashes repeatedly on file open
Each time I relaunch Audacity and try to open any of my 3 project files, it crashes. Can you open anything else? Older projects? Create a simple project with noise, save the Project, close Audacity and see if it opens by double clicking the aup file. How is the second drive connected? FireWire? Is ...

Re: Audacity crashing when launching
That's it.
You may need to open the windows a bit to get rid of the sulpher smell.
Let us know if you have any questions with that part.
That should restart Audacity from First Birthday.

Re: Deleting Clipped Audio
So you essentially want the data that writes the red bars in the display that tells us where the clipping is. Yes, in the case of moderate voice clipping that would probably work OK, however the two most experienced clipping events are plugging a powerful line-level stereo signal into the Mic-In of ...

Re: Removing background music
Vocal Removal is a simple arithmetic job. Piece of cake (when it works), but Vocal Isolation is very difficult and like I said, if you have a mono (not 2-channel stereo) show, you can stop looking right now.

Re: Amplify
The signal I am using is coming straight from the playback (play/out) on the dual cassette deck. ...into the Mic-In of your laptop, right? Past the problem that Mic-In is mono, not stereo, it's also configured for the super low volume signal coming from a microphone. You are very probably overloadi...

Re: LP conversion sound quality, can you recommend improveme
I do use one playback tool. I forget what it's called (soundcheck?), but it tries to minimize the volume variations in a show. This is handy if you like to listen to podcasts that aren't too careful with their levels. Koz
