Time Selection Tool, also known as Mark In and Mark Out since it doesn't appear to change even if you select another point in the timeline with your cursor. I do like the comment that you can punch-in a bunch of times and pick the one you want. So it's not actually destroying the underlying track. Koz

Post some typical work/music/voice in addition to the noise. If your performance is very low level, then yes, this may be a problem.

You only get effects and generate tabs when the song on the timeline is stopped, not paused.

Shift-Command-3 doesn't take a screenshot? Shift-Command-4 should give you a cursor that you can drag around the portion of the screen you want to capture. Koz

Do you have SoundFlower installed?
Are you using headphones? You can't leave your speakers running when you're using a live microphone. That will cause feedback and because of the computer delay, repeating echoes.
