Re: Sound only coming from one headphone

Are you sure the headphone plug is all the way in? Left Only is one of the symptoms of a partially seated plug. How new is the Edirol and has it ever worked? There is one other thing you can try. Plug an RCA to RCA stereo cable into the Output L-R RCAs and play something. Jam your earbuds into first...

Re: Losing album art when exporting files

You may be a victim of Audacity's insistence on divorcing the import and export music. Did you notice that Audacity doesn't have a Clip Info button? That's because the music inside Audacity has no relationship to the file you opened. I think that's where your artwork is going. Audacity has no idea w...

Re: problem

Does Edit > Preferences > Devices point to the sound card or the internal microphone? Sometimes you can set Audacity for Stereo in Edit > Preferences > Recording and it will ignore a mono microphone. Koz

Re: Unable to export an audacity project as an MP3

Since you don't actually have a sound problem, I'm not sure posting music would be helpful. You don't Export a Project. You Save a Project and Export an MP3. Is the object of the class a standard, stand-alone MP3 music file? Can you fill that in a little? You can get an abbreviated or damaged Projec...

Re: Asking for my friend

It does make sense. Is there any possibility you can get them to post? We're going to start asking questions and whereas we think you're a lovely person, putting you in the middle of a rapid fire exchange is going to be awkward. This isn't a forum that delays two weeks for a response.

Re: Can't hear sound using USB sound capture device

The overwhelmingly popular cause of playback failure is Windows trying to send the music back out to the turntable. Using the speaker pulldown on the Audacity work window -- the device pulldown -- make sure it's pointing toward the sound card or other playback system and not the turntable or other U...

Re: how to record whole album (LP)

I'm going to send you to our comprehensive wiki system, but the short version is: Record the whole side. File > Export as a WAV just in case your computer throws up. Put a label at the beginning of each song. Do Not forget the first one. Tracks > Add Label. You will have a different shortcut than I ...

Re: Guitar dirty sound

Post a brief WAV file of a note or two or three of you clean , don't help us, and then a sample of what you want -- or point to a performance that has a guitar you like. Point directly to a URL instead of trying to describe a show if possible. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=6...

Re: Use audio track as a sample for other audio tracks

Unfortunately, speech is somewhat the worst audio to clone (Otherwise thousands of persons would speak like the US-president in their Youtube videos). Or him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJMGS7l0wT8 However, the target sound has still to be prpared manually. Right, which brings up back to the or...

I can see people really wanting "The Universal Audiobook Format."

Write back if you find one.
