Re: Vocal playback speeded up

it is recording at this high speed. No. It's recording slow. It's producing a song that appears to be playing fast. If you record a 60 second show, but the computer isn't fast enough to capture all 60 of those seconds, then you might get a 58 second recording. The resulting show will play two secon...

Re: Problem with recording on Saffire Pro 14

And you're connecting with FireWire, right? Did you get an add-on FireWire card for your computer? If the audio comes down the tubes in anything but straight, plain bitstream, then Audacity is not going to know what to do with it. If the system uses ASIO software and drivers for production and low l...

Re: Reverb on recording

The turntable with built-in preamp is the combination you should be using for everything unless you plug into the Phono-In of a large amplifier. Phono-In has its own preamplfier and the one inside the turntable isn't needed. Bass notes do not "fit" in vinyl grooves, so a standard way of re...

Re: Auto add extension on export

Some exports don't have any idea what you want ahead of time. If you export WAV Microsoft signed 16-bit PCM, it should always add the .wav extension. I think there is another way to export WAV that doesn't.

Re: Line-in problem

You may just be plugged into the wrong hole in the back of the amplifier. I can't tell what the options are because of poor pictures. Koz

Re: Line-in problem

There's three different variations in Macbooks. The older ones had a real Stereo Line-In like the circle with two black arrows. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MacLineIn.jpg The Macs in the middle had one connection that handles both headphone out and Stereo Line-In and you had to switch it a...

Re: Podcast Recording with effects, which ones to choose?

Rather than going at this blind (and deaf), post a short segment of the show so we can tell which direction to go. Doesn't have to be actual show, but it has to be in the same technique you're going to use. Read the gas bill, anything. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=64936 Wha...

Re: Reverb on recording

When I record a stereo record with Audacity, the right and left tracks are different when I have it set up as line-in rather than mic. If I record a Hi-Fi record ... both tracks are the same on mic or line-in Are you referring to a HiFi Record as mono rather than stereo? That's confusing because St...

Re: How to remove the string squeak noise?

The room is not particularly obtrusive. Are you on a stage, padded bedroom, or outdoors while you're playing? I was surprised of what you could do with a simple Zoom H2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5SC1uIxXhk&feature=relmfu He's graduated to other microphones, but there's nothing wrong with ...

Re: Garritan Effects Not Working

Does this effect have a setting for "depth" or something similar that has a zero at one end? In other words, you slide the adjuster to zero and the effect doesn't do anything.
