Re: trouble with Sound Soap
Mac Desktop: Go > Applications > Soundsoap. Drag that to the trash (but don't empty the trash). If the application is well behaved, SoundSoap should vanish from the system. See how that goes. You might want to restart the Mac after you do that, so it comes up without the SoundSoap baggage. Soundsoap...

Re: Reverb on recording
If you want to stick with it, you can record everything low and boost the volume later using Effect > Amplify. Koz

Re: Reverb on recording
Which I don't think you can do with that sound card.My problem is getting the recording sound up to an acceptable level.
The recording connections on sound cards seldom work right. Yours appears to be one of the ones that has problems. I don't think it's fixable.

Re: Line-in problem
Do you have an idea ? Yes. It's not Audacity. Send a scan of the back of the amplifier so we can read it. You don't need Audacity to test this. Open Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound> Input and watch the dancing blue sound meter. If you don't get that, you have zip - nothing. Koz

Re: Recording from dj mixer to HP laptop
And even if you do, there are sometimes problems. We have a current posting from someone whose Mic/Line shifting doesn't work right. It seems to be stuck giving him the worst characteristics of both.can be switched between mic and line,

Re: Recording but not writing to disk
I'd probably go into Edit > Preferences > Directories and make sure Audacity is trying to write to a real place and it has permissions access to that place. You can get into troubles if you install Audacity as an administrator, but run it as a Lowly User. The permissions could change so it no longer...

Re: Recording telephone conversations
Audacity has nothing like that. All it can do is record whatever the computer presents to it and the computer, as a rule, will not present both sides of the conversation. You're not actually getting both sides in your tests. You're getting the leaky side-tone which is not generally satisfactory. So ...

Re: Recording from dj mixer to HP laptop
http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/peaveyUCA202Lenovo.jpg That's a Behringer UCA202 and that's the device we recommend for computers that have no Stereo Line-In. That's my mixer. Mic-In, unless you have a very special computer, is mono and it's very easy to create trash instead of music if you'r...
Re: no sound
Audacity 1.2 is hopelessly out of date and no longer supported -- other than to tell you to stop using it. Since you got a working recording, that part of the system appears to be OK. The other thing that Windows probably did in the background was try to send your music back to the turntable instead...

Re: Recording problem
I didn´t have a special configuration, No, but you do now. When you tried to record that YouTube video sound, those settings do what you have. Select the Input Device pulldown (microphone symbol) and make sure you're recording from a real thing like Microphone, Line-In, etc, and not some magic soft...
