Re: Why No Audio After File Saved?

Open the device toolbar (speaker symbol) and see where Audacity is trying to send your music. If you have a USB turntable connected, Audacity and Windows may be trying to send your playback back to the turntable instead of speakers or headphones. You can also get there with Edit > Preferences > Devi...

Re: Join Projcts - Side 1 & 2 of LP

iTunes will not accept an Audacity Project, so you will be exporting the songs as WAV or AIFF files. When you do this to both projects, you will get a pile of individual WAV files that you can drag into iTunes. Once inside iTunes, they can be arranged in whatever order you wish. Next time when you g...

Re: Reel to reel speeds in audacity

Effect > Change Speed. The speeds, at least in the US are all double and half of each other. 15 IPS, 7.5 IPS, 3.25 IPS, etc. However you are not going to get pure, clear audio. Record electronics and playback electronics are all adjusted for each speed and ideally, the type of tape. If you play a ta...

Re: one-click noise removal

Is there anything wrong with doing it the way cellphones and audio conferencing systems do it? Average vast chunks of the timeline and use that as the profile? I'm perfectly clear you can't do that with music, See: "my guitar gets all bubbly," but for human speech, there are worse techniqu...

Two level help works. Get You Out Of Trouble Right Now and the knowledge of where to go later to fix for real. I'm good with that.

Re: Remove unwanted audio at start of track

But you can UNDO and bring it all back, right? You got the Zoom thing down? Drag-select the beginning of the show and Control-E, zoom to selection. And you drag-select the obvious clunk and noisy lead track, press DEL on the keyboard and your whole show goes away? Does it still do that if you restar...

Re: Missing files

You can confuse "Recent Files." Did you actually go down the directory path to see where your files are rather than depending on Audacity to find them? If you remember what names you used, can Windows search find them? Did you save Audacity Projects, or did you actually Export real sound f...

Re: Issues With Recording In Audacity

bare with me The forum does not encourage nudity. If this behavior happens repeatedly, then your computer may not be up to multi-track and overdubbing. To do advanced production, your computer has to be able to play back multiple audio tracks in perfect order and real time while at the exact same t...

Re: analyze

You're up against two different tools: AutoTune which forces you to be right whether you want to be or not, and the standard analysis tools which aren't nearly as sensitive as recording the presentation and playing it back to your ears. A voice isn't one single pitch. This is the analysis of one sin...
