Re: My Mac laptop says no to Audacity 2.2
MP3 creation is a licensed, money-based product from Fraunhofer Gesellschaft. It's not free. Lame is a software work-alike that is generally used when somebody wants to create MP3s without the license fees. Audacity cannot be offered with lame on-board. You have to do it yourself. http://manual.auda...

You don't copy the dmg (Disk Image) file to Applications. You double click on it and it should either explode into an installer, or create a disk drive on the desktop with the actual application in it. Drag that into /Applications.

Re: poor quality of burn to cd
[crickets] ... ... I can't imagine how the system could do that. Did you export the music as MP3 or WAV? Music on a CD is in WAV format and if you captured the work and saved it as MP3,them the computer would have to do double compression to convert it for the CD. But that shouldn't cause serious da...

Re: Audacity recording same audio on both channels
Are you only using the USB connection between the turntable and the laptop? This is dead easy to get wrong with the analog connections, but I can't see an easy way to get this wrong with the USB digital connections. Edit > Preferences > Devices and make sure it's set for stereo. Just on a whim, down...

Re: Switching mix between tracks
it is not possible (as far as I know) to 'tie' the envelopes so that if one enevelope goes down, the other goes up That sounds like a feature request. I've wanted that several times during music production. An engineer called Skip McKlusky once cut between English and Spanish versions of a then-cur...

Re: Switching mix between tracks
No. The envelope method should not give you clicks and pops as you can control the rate of fade between the songs. If you're getting heavy bass pops at the cut points, then you may benefit strongly from removing DC from each track before you edit. Effect > Normalize > Remove DC. Don't let the tool d...

Re: To record my electric guitar on my PC using audacity
If its not possible to record my amp, would it still be posible to add sound effects like gain? Audacity doesn't do anything in real time past record, play, and some timer jobs, so to do anything special requires actual recording. You left the recording job a little open. Direct connections to the ...

Re: Unable to get audacity to recognize mic
My snowball requires mono recording instead of stereo. It could be as simple as that.
Are you expecting to record game music in addition to your voice? I don't know that Audacity will do that, although it will record your voice alone.
