Re: Won't Record LP In Stereo
Is there a driver or software disk? USB Microphones are mono. If the system thinks it's connected to a microphone, then it may default to one channel. When I connect things, they either say the name of the device or "USB Audio Device." They show up, and work stereo. We also warn people tha...

Re: Cannot adjust input volume
What are you recording? Some services are non-adjustable on Macs. Apple (upper left) > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Input. Do you see the sound device or microphone? Is the volume control maxed out and fixed? If it is, then whatever you're doing isn't adjustable on a Mac. Koz

Re: 'static'-like noise generated in audacity
I don't know that I can completely follow you. Sony makes about a hundred different versions of mini hi fi. Which one exactly do you have? Point to a web site. Does the Mini HiFi have a Phono Input? If your turntable has a built-in phono preamplifier, then you shouldn't be using two. Use the Stereo ...

Re: Unable to record anything whilst a Youtube video is play
And I don't think there are any circumstances where you can record what the computer is playing and a live microphone at the same time. Plain computers only have a limited number of sound pathways and it's easy to get feedback by opening up too many of them at once -- if Windows even lets you.

Re: Trouble with Roland Duo_Capture EX
Switch the unit to 44100, Stereo on the back. Then go into Audacity > Preferences > Devices, Stereo and Audacity > Preferences > Quality, 44100. See if that helps. If you make enough changes like that, you may need to restart both the device and Audacity. And remember to plug in the device before yo...

If you're on Snow Leopard, the Library folder is hidden. I think you can get there from the Go menus.
Go > Go To Folder > /Users/koz/Library
Put your user name in there instead of koz.
That should give you a listing containing Application Support and inside that audacity.

Re: Microphone low volume
connects to the computer using a 1/4 inch connector, Actually, it connects to your guitar amplifier 1/4" Mic-In. A straight 1/4" socket to 1/8" plug should have worked at the Mic-In of your computer. This microphone doesn't take phantom power. "Dynamic" means moving-coil an...

K-Pop? I don't know that it's one single special effect as much as just weapon's grade vocal compression (denser) and maybe a little echo/reverb. Effect > Leveler Effect > Compressor Effect > Hard Limiter. You might apply Chris's Compressor to the vocal tracks before the other tools. Chris should ev...

Re: Audacity suddenly loses volume
You should start watching the Audacity Red Record Meters during the performance. You are "flying blind" without that. I would further say you could get a damaged recording, but that's redundant. You can grab the right-hand edge of the meters and pull them to the right to make them bigger a...
