Re: Fixing a "Tinny" recording

Select a large portion of the music and Analyze > Plot Spectrum. Leave the Size at around 256 or so and use Log Frequency. If the blue waves take a serious dip below 1000 (for example) then that's a good start for values to plug into Effect > Equalizer. You can use the values down the left of the an...

Re: Combining Audacity Projects!!

it's quicker than export/import.
Maybe not if you also have to create a new track each time, too. Paste works all on one track and if you need the time shift tool or other filters on a one by one basis, it's easier on separate tracks.

Re: vocal remover

Is it mono? Magnify both of the blue waves and inspect them. If they are motion identical, then it's a mono track and Vocal Removal won't work. If you have only one blue wave, same thing. Drag select a portion of the music and Control-E. Keep doing that until you can see the waves clearly. See Illus...

Re: simultaneous recording two tracks

That's what Pamela Business and Pamela Professional do. They put you on one side and the interviewee on the other. I think you can get there with Total Recorder, too. http://www.pamela.biz/en/download/ The two cheaper versions of Pamela have production restrictions. http://highcriteria.com/ There's ...

Re: fragmentation

It might help if you File > Export your show and use a nonsense name for it like MondayShow. Never use punctuation marks in a filename. That will make the new sound file stand out so you can easily find it. If you saved and exported one show under the same name, you may get multiple files that make ...

Re: Audacity Won't Launch/Open

The only person who used the word "audacity.exe" is Gale. I don't think the poster has 'reveal extensions' turned on. There is no audacity.exe for them.

Re: Distorted recording of lecture.

I will definitely try to duplicate your last explanation so that I can hear what is being recorded before, or as it is being recorded, which sounds like the best way to prevent what happened with the distortion. Pay particular attention to the instruction we both used multiple times, "Don't us...

Re: connecting keyboard

A note: You should listen to the computer or make a brief sample recording to make sure the music got there. Don't do what another poster did and record vast works -- all damaged.

Ah. There it is.

Re: connecting keyboard

What did the instructions say about audio appearing on the USB cable? We got burned recently when a keyboard appeared that did unlike most other keyboards that have MIDI-only. We have a tutorial on recording a musical keyboard and any second I'm going to find it. Both of my keyboards are missing AUX...

Re: Separated Track Bleedover

It might be good to know if it happens both directions. This short sound clip is a Left-Right test. The voice is hard-panned and there is no leakage.
