Re: Mic doesn't work?

Fill in all the maker and model numbers. "I'm using a XXX microphone, an ZZZ mixer, a laptop with YYY operating system, etc."

Re: I suddenly lost the ability to record??

Specifics are good. We know nothing about your system or microphone and you posted in a generic portion of the forum.

"I'm using an XYZ USB microphone model 2 connected to an HP Tercera laptop computer using Windows Vista operating system. I'm using Audacity version 2.0.2"

Re: No sound when recording with Saffire Pro 40

Audacity doesn't speak MIDI at all and apparently, Focusrite uses ASIO software to do all of its multi-channel tricks. Audacity doesn't natively speak ASIO, either. You can recompile Audacity with ASIO support, but it's not easy or particularly fun. Even if you do, that still leaves you without MIDI...

Re: Need help recording on Numark Mixtrack Pro with Audacity

Re: Need help recording on Numark Mixtrack Pro with Audacity

I think both outputs are the same: Is that what the instructions said? Did you do the earbud or headphone test? On a unit like that, it's possible they bring out each "turntable" as a separate feed. To plug your mixer into a computer, it needs to have a Stereo Line-In. This is a sound car...

Re: How do I paste into tracks without moving everything?

5 seconds of audio onto a separate track
Really, that's the only good option. That will let you use the Time Shift Tool to line things up and then careful fades to integrate everything together seamlessly.

Re: Merging 3 Audio Streams

Remember the line where I said this can't take any more than a couple of months?

Nowhere did we say you couldn't do it.

Did you find a good cut point between the cameras? Somewhere that had the same phrases on both cameras and everybody takes a breath at once?

Re: recording from an ext. mixer

Even if you leave bits out by accident, if you include model and part numbers, sometimes we can piece it all together. Pretend it all arrived jumbled in a FedEx box cold and we have to put it all together based on your instructions.

Re: Meters

Yes. You correct the show. Audacity doesn't do any processing in real time and whatever Windows supplies is what gets recorded. If you're recording What's On The Computer, you might check the Windows Control Panels and make sure the balance controls (if you have them) are in the middle. If you're tr...
