Re: peaks are limited by default?

The turntable connection is not real sound. It still has the intentional RIAA distortion on it. That has to be removed in a Phono Preamplifier for the proper music to appear. Behringer does make one of those, too. UFO-202. http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/UFO202.aspx But you're fine just where y...

Re: No sound on exported file

It's the most fun when a poster is doing everything right and it still doesn't work. Stop using MP3. Generally, Audacity will capture the vinyl in very good quality format internally. Music CDs use a very good quality for the music they carry. MP3, however, is a personal player listening and interne...

Re: No sound when recording with Saffire Pro 40

OK, so. Audacity doesn't speak ASIO without a lot of work, and it only "knows" what Windows knows which is generally stereo. Left and Right. If you got a software package with your machine, that generally will know how to manage multiple live sound channels from the device. You can use tha...

Re: files all mixed up

That's what double clicking on the AUP file does. What name did you give the show? There should be a file called that name followed by .aup. Double click that file and the whole show should come back in Audacity.

Re: I have a latency/reverb? delay on my recorded audio

If you didn't delete the original track, then all of them will play at once when you're done. Good, Bad, and Backing. You can use the SOLO and MUTE buttons to the left of the blue waves to select what you want to listen to. SOLO plays one track by itself. You may just need to delete the first, bad p...

Re: *&^ mic not working properly...

That's just for USB. If you have a "regular" headset like this... http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PCHeadset.jpg Then you need to select those connections in your Windows control panels, or sometimes in the Audacity Device Pulldown. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/device_toolbar...

Re: I have a latency/reverb? delay on my recorded audio

All that stuff is how to keep the echoes from happening in the first place. Once you get them it's pretty much too late. We can't split apart voices once they're mixed together. However you don't have regular echoes. Recording Latency is when you sing in perfect time to the backing track and the sho...

Re: files all mixed up

You made a Project instead of a sound file. Open the show by double-clicking on the AUP file and File > Export as WAV -- the Audacity default. Don't touch anything else. Koz

Re: No sound when recording with Saffire Pro 40

MIDI is machine control. The computer tells the keyboard what keys to press. It has nothing to do with sound. A marriage between Audio and MIDI is nice when you compose in machine control, but want to record the music from the keyboard. They're different. If that's fuzzy to you, then it's not import...
