Do you have Skype, Zoom or other chat application running or napping in the background while you're doing this? They're famous for taking over your sound system and not telling you.

Re: 2-channel configuration unavailable for USB UCA202 Windows 10
This is a little bit from the on-line ad. Screen Shot 2020-08-11 at 8.35.36 PM.png It's a pretty simple box. When you go digging down the Windows sound panels, do you get the bouncing sound meter? Mine is a single meter, but I believe it's measuring both Left and Right. Play something to make the me...

Re: Please reinstate the ability to solo multiple tracks
I thought it followed the Click/Shift-Click/Control-Click convention but I guess not.

Re: Ability to record what I'm playing while listening with effects without latency
What he said. The three examples of successful overdubbing (Sound-On-Sound) all used devices that allowed hardware monitoring. That's the only way to guarantee no delays for any user on any computer. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/peaveyUCA202Lenovo.jpg Since then, I bought a Benringer UM2 ...

Close Audacity. Apple (upper left of the desktop) > System Preferences > Sound > Input. Is something there? This is my plain analog sound connection. Screen Shot 2020-08-11 at 12.55.55 PM.png That Input Level thing is a bouncing sound meter. Does yours bounce? Audacity gets its sound from the Mac, n...

Re: Split Audio is Shorter than Video
European video rate is generally 25/50. US can be 30/60. Film rate is 24. The legacy rates in the US are 29.97/59.94 from back when we were struggling to get analog color TV to work and 23.976 for combining film and legacy US TV. You may still run into older videos that don't mix well with your newe...

Re: Audacity/Zoom real-time mixing
It's been my experience that there is no "Zoom and...." Zoom will do everything in its power to make sure it's sending your microphone clean and receiving the group's sound clean. There was a recent post where a conference app actually took down a meeting because it couldn't maintain exclu...

Re: AUDACITY LOADS BUT ERROR MESSAGE WHEN TRYING TO RECORD
If you have a broken or erratic microphone or interface connection, that can create some very serious problems. Audacity will not recover from a broken connection by itself. Once a ratty USB connection disconnects, Audacity will forget about the microphone until you re-establish it by hand. Also, yo...

Re: Issue with burning music files to disc
The format of music on an Audio CD is 44100 sampling rate, 16bit PCM (Microsoft), Stereo. I had a very old burner which would fail if I presented a mono (one blue wave) audio track instead of stereo (two blue waves). 32-bit PCM is not a graceful or normal sampling rate. It's even higher than studio ...
