Audacity > Preferences > Devices > Recording > Stereo. Close and restart Audacity.
See how that works.

Re: Attempting to Record LFN.. Help!
The microphone may not die at 12v, but it wouldn't work right, either. 12v is a standard Phantom Power specification, but it's falling out of favor because it was always a make-do solution adopted only by a subset of makers. 48v has been the standard since the thirties and I suspect your microphone ...

Re: Microphone Noise USB Mic Windows 7
You are perfectly correct to address the noise at its source rather than putting an electronic band aid on it later. Win7 has internal tools to "help you" with your microphone. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#enhancements Entertainment recording can ...

Re: Attempting to Record LFN.. Help!
I pulled both sound clips down. I amplified both of them about the same amount in order to supply something of good volume to get on with. Effect > Amplify > OK. Then I applied Effect > Low Pass Filter, 36dB, 60Hz and then again starting over at 36dB, 40Hz. I can't tell any significant difference be...

Re: Need help with recording quality

It's Windows Enhanced Services. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#enhancements There's other ways to get this distortion, but that one's most common. Koz

I think that's a good phrase. We were looking for good words to describe what it does. "Environment...?"Saving a project saves the complete workspace
But not UNDO.

Re: Exporting multiple channels doesn't work
It could be argued that you should call the client and find out what they want. The stereo WAV file thing is in case you can't call the client. That's the product least likely to cause problems. We had a sound pro do a sound shoot here many moons ago. One of the performers had a sound guy he liked. ...

Re: Exporting multiple channels doesn't work
If you have two stereo tracks one above the other, select one of them by clicking just above the MUTE button and Tracks > Stereo Track to Mono. After you do that to the second track, select the top one and using the pulldown menu to the left of the track, Make Stereo Track. I believe that's how Pame...

It's not that it fails as it becomes unstable or unpredictable.
