Re: Record commentary for something, audio goes out of sync

You know television doesn't run at 44.1, right? That's Music CD sampling. Television runs at 48. What's that, 91%? 9% error? Try a long capture and produce the work at 48000 sampling instead of 44100 and skip the MP3 step completely. Any video editing software should be able to handle very high qual...

No h.264? The system tried to download a Windows .exe file. That's not going to do my Mac any good.

Re: problem with headphone volume whilst recording?

I couldn't quite follow it, either. It's close....

Are you listening to the computer, to the UCA222, or to the mixer? Where are the speakers connected?

Try turning off Ovedubbing in Audacity Preferences. Is the effect still there?

Re: Analyzing DC Offset

Programmers love that recursive logic. "If you can't read this, Call Operations x76....." We actually had that message for a short time. I'm not making that up. From the legacy discussion of this, DC Removal would get you into trouble by applying any filters at all. So what it does is aver...

Re: Scrolling through timeline whilst NOT playing back Beta

You might consider upgrading to Audacity 2.0.2. Some of the tools in Audacity 1.3 had problems. Koz

Re: Scrolling through timeline whilst NOT playing back Beta

I want to have control of the scroll whilst listening.
So do we. Audacity doesn't scrub.

Re: Cannot Get FFMPEG Lame to Install

Audacity - which I just downloaded today - is V 2.0.2.
Bless you. People insist on saying "I got the latest Audacity" when in fact they have no such thing.

Re: Cannot Get FFMPEG Lame to Install

The lame program is for MP3 files and it's only for making them. Audacity already knows how to play them. FFMpeg is a separate program that's written to know about much more modern and different digital music formats -- playing them and making them. You can get FFMpeg from the same place you got lam...

Re: Audacity file gone-data file still there

the icon for an AUP file looks like the icon for the useless SFK file. Meaning Windows can't figure out either one and thereby assigns "generic" icons that look alike. You might consider telling Windows to reveal file extensions. That helps a lot. MyMusic and MyMusic turn into MyMusic.wav...

Re: A Way To Analyze Audio for DC Offset

everyone was already accustomed to using the Normalize effect to perform this operation.
Yes. Everybody who already knows where the tools, knows where the tool is. Does it show up in a search for DC Removal? It's not in the Index.
