Re: USB Audio Controller
Audacity only checks for things to connect to when it starts. There's way to force it later, but restarting is simple. Close Audacity. Go into Windows Control Panels > Audio and see if your music player is listed there. If not, then there may be a problem with the player. Windows is pretty good abou...

Re: Adding jpg,png,..etc images to a mp3 file???
It's derived from a video format Yes, and we've seen MP3s that insist on frame boundaries because of its heritage. It's derived from a video format and you can have an audio/video file that contains audio in MP3 format Right. You get an .mpg file with an MP3 inside. I've never seen an audio/video &...

Re: Attempting to Record LFN.. Help!
It may capture more than that. You are experiencing the sound waves after the wall has had a chance to move the air in your house. Putting the microphone on the wall should record not only that sound, but also the overtones that normally wouldn't transmit to the air. I still bet you find compressor ...

Re: Muddy Sound When Recording In Audacity
One more note. Audacity doesn't apply effects in real time, so it's not something Audacity is "adding" to the show. In general, whatever bitstream is presented to Audacity by the computer is what gets recorded. It seems to me the only variable between the video software that appears to wor...

Re: Muddy Sound When Recording In Audacity
If you looked up Windows Enhanced Services in the dictionary, this clip would be the lead example. It starts out loud and decreases in volume and sounds like intense compression artifacts or you sang a song with your head in a barrel. And yes, like a bad cellphone call for the same reason. More glob...

MP3 is a video format. Its full family name is MPEG1, Layer 3. So you could create a video of your still and the MP3 would ride along as the sound track. I think most media players will accept it. it's a very old format, a cousin to Video CD.

Re: Noise Removal Issue
Hiss type noise is usually a complaint of people performing too far away from the ideal zone of a live microphone and the microphone's own natural noises overwhelm the performance. You shouldn't get that kind of noise with a turntable. You can't have the needle too far away from the record. It's eit...

Re: Tips on "gluing" tracks together by applying the same re
I'm a little fuzzy here, but I think there are other echo/reverb tools we sometimes recommend. GVerb as one wag put it, is a good tool to make a reverb tool. Not a show.

Re: sound is fading out
I was simply recording a single note held for a few seconds. Exactly correct. And here's what the software is thinking: "It's been there for too long and steady to be a human speaking voice. It must be the dreaded AIR CONDITIONING NOISE. GET RID OF IT, QUICK!!!" You need to find those noi...
