Re: Clapping sound problem

I changed your email address because it's very dangerous to post it on the forum. It's an open invitation to spam and unwanted emails. The short answer is you don't. You can't take a performance apart into individual instruments and the clapping is now a performer. You join a very long list of peopl...

Re: Export audacity file to mp3, need help

It probably means you put punctuation marks in your filename. Stop that. Dates can be written 20130116. Underscore and dash are the only unconditionally safe punctuation marks. Avoid all others.
Sorry. Wrote the date wrong [blushing].

Re: Echo Removal

An echo is your own voice arriving at the microphone multiple different times reflected from the walls, so you are in essence, asking the software to remove you from yourself. Koz The Four Hors...

Re: Multichannel export converts stereo channel to mono

Did all your channels show up whatever they're called? Past the first two, there is no L and R. Technically, the first two should have been mono as well. This is not a "stereo" show. The first channel could have been Left-Front...or not. Some of our client multi-channel tapes have complete...

Re: Noise Removal Issue

I'm curious why that recording responded so well to noise reduction while the others did not. Noise Removal is something of a violin. Results not guaranteed. Each new show/record should generate a new Noise Profile to be effective. You can't take a profile on one record at the beginning of the week...

Re: unable to store recording into audacity

My Win7 insisted on saving work to the same folder that contains the program. Saving work in Program Files is a terrible idea. Change the directory to My Music, Desktop or some other location. Are you the Administrator on your machine or are you running as the Standard User? Standard User is not aut...

Re: bugs in labels

Those are actually Hot Keys for something else. Which version of Audacity do you have? I think it's Help > About Audacity. Something like that. Koz

Re: Audacity struggles with multiple desktops

Audacity is not a multi-tasking, multi-user program (someone will correct me). It depends on tight integration between the program, the input/output layer and storage. It's the reason Audacity has problems working over a network. Sometimes you can force it, but the delays and discontinuities kill yo...
