Re: Can you help me EQ/process my live MP3 recording?
Regarding mp3, since the H2 1-track source audio is pretty bad to begin with, I wasn't overly concerned with more subtle lossless issues of mp3. Audacity doesn't edit MP3. Audacity imports the music in its own super-high quality sound format and then makes a new MP3 when it's done. Each step in the...

Re: help converting itunes music to WAV file using CDex
Many of these tools will not work if the music was purchased with FairPlay® copy protection -- as many iTunes songs are. The traditional way around this is to burn a Music CD with iTunes and then use CDex to rip the CD. You can also use the Self-Recording feature of your machine to record on Audacit...

Re: Can you help me EQ/process my live MP3 recording?
That's not what the leveler does. You got something serious wrong. Do you have Show Clipping turned on?Or someone holding a blanket over it.
That wasn't a fluffy question. It would be good to answer that. What do think MP3 does to your sound?

Re: Better Reverb Plugin?
That's a feature request. Almost word for word the one that I wrote. If you need to start worrying about millisecond recursive bounce ratios, you're totally doing it wrong. We recommend a packaged reverb program that seems to be easier to use than the GVerb one included with Audacity, and somebody w...

Re: Does Audacity log effects?
However, the Undo history can use a huge amount of disk space, so it is cleared when the project is closed. And doesn't give you the option of saving it? Our machines have massive storage at work, and it would be insanely handy to have "Full Undo" available in a Project -- say two differe...

Stereo Boost Filter
Didn't somebody do a stereo boost filter? It should be grade school level programming. Convert the stereo show to L+R and L-R, change the ratio between them, effectively increasing or decreasing the separation and then put it back to L and R. This is different from making stereo where none had exist...

Re: Can you help me EQ/process my live MP3 recording?
I did Analyze > Plot Spectrum and saw that the bass guitar and probably the kick drum were "ringing" in the room. They were much too loud in comparison to the rest of the show. That happens in certain clubs and it makes it almost impossible to record a show from the audience. You can't hea...

You don't have either one. They were both custom drawn for your show.
Both of those curves are going to change if you move to a different club -- or get a good audience.

Re: Can you help me EQ/process my live MP3 recording?
First quick pass. Corrected and then a little original. http://www.kozco.com/tech/clips/twoFiltersandCompressor.wav I applied the Anti-RoomBoom first to get rid of that sonic boom from the walls of the hall, then Effect > Leveler to punch up the presence and the Anti-Muffle (second curve) to punch u...

Combining Analyze and Equalize
Once again I wish for a tool that could take the result of Analyze and apply it to Equalize. Run Analyze and free-hand draw the general outline of the lumps and bumps in the curve. drawCurve.jpg Save the drawing and apply it to the Equalize display insuring that the cardinal frequency points overlap...
