(I have no clue how to do that in Win 8)
How do you do it in Win7? That may get me out of trouble. Koz

Re: PLEASE HELP!!

It has to be done somehow. I've seen plenty of YouTube videos where people have recorded voice change prank calls. With Skype, yes. I think one of the Pamela licenses is free and actually works as long as you don't go over a minute or some restriction like that. I think the guy on YouTube forced Au...

Re: PLEASE HELP!!

There's that guy on YouTube that claimed to be able to do it with Audacity and Skype, but nobody I know of claimed to do it with Google Chat. Koz

Re: Attenuating FLAC file

Overload or clipping (removing the tips of the waves) is usually fatal. The Clip Fix software can sometimes recover one or two peaks, but if you have serious overload and distortion on multiple peaks, that may be the end of the show. Koz

Re: Exportm ultiple not saving tracks

I don't see any way around it. You're into heavy fairyland with this one. I've never seen Audacity do that to anybody else. The next step is a serious analysis of your operating system and machine and ripping apart your sound files to see if there is a problem in those. You could have permissions/ad...

Re: changing the pitch on a backing track

You should be careful to get the right tool. Change Pitch does not change the length of the show but Change Speed does. Also, none of the tools work beyond one or two piano notes. Past that, voices always come out sounding strange. Changing voices isn't a matter of pushing everything up or down. Glo...

Re: PLEASE HELP!!

In order to work right, chat/conference software has to take over the computer sound channels leaving no place to grab voice for a recording. Skype does it, too. You need to find software specifically designed to do this. Skype has the Pamela suite of capture tools. Audacity won't do it by itself. U...

Re: "Fixing" a bad recording

AUP isn't a sound file. You should post a sound file from these instructions. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=64936 It would be good to know the history. Is this a bad cellphone recording? Microphone in the bushes surveillance? Rock Concert recording? What's the goal? Perfect ...

That's a Shure X2U. XLR Microphone on one end and USB digital on the other. It supports 48v Phantom power for microphones that need it and most important for demo purposes, a full-on monitoring system -- both directions. http://www.shure.com/americas/products/accessories/microphones/microphone-probl...

Re: Can you help me EQ/process my live MP3 recording?

Pleeeease stop using MP3. After the first one, you're not compressing the music any more. You're compressing the music and the errors.
