Re: recording
You write like I used to and nobody could follow me, either. If you want to create a speeded up music track, you should use Effect > Change Speed, get it like you want it, and then export a new track with those settings. Do Not step on the old file. Choose a new filename so you can go back to the or...

Re: Import Several "raw files"
I don't know that Noise Removal is available as a batch (Chain) process. Noise Removal works in two steps, not one and you have to be aware of the show in each case, you can't just push a button.
That on top of Hiss being very difficult to remove -- most times impossible.

Re: No sound after moving files to another computer
While the project is open on the desktop machine, close your show by clicking on the little X to the upper left of the track. Don't close Audacity. Then Generate > Tone > OK. Play that. Do you hear it? Edit > Preferences > Devices > Playback. Does that point to something rational like your soundcard...

While you're in Disk Utility, pay attention to the sizes and capacities. A MacOS drive should never get over about 80% - 85% full. Messy things start happening. Koz

Re: crackeling buzz sound when playing sounds
This complaint has floated for a while because it's very odd. I've taken the problem both backward and forward and I can't think of an easy scenario. That is, I tried to imagine what could cause that and then I tried to imagine that somebody is going to write me a generous check to create this probl...

Re: Recording via Line In gets clipped at low level
It is possible to get clipping like that on a real Line-In if you punish it with high, powerful levels from the amp or wherever it's coming from. Can you turn that down? On a guess, now. Do you have a setting for "20 dB Mic Boost." I had one sound card that applied the boost across the boa...

Re: MP3 file size after editing
MP3 damage is cumulative. Each time you edit an MP3, the sound quality goes down and you can't stop it. Each pass, you are compressing the original music plus all the damage that came before. If you want simple editing or cutting, you might try an actual MP3 editor that doesn't work that way such as...

Re: Select (extract) songs separately from live recording?
You could stop right there. File > Export Multiple and you will get two songs each song will start at a label. You could drag-select the song. Labels are sticky or magnetic and your cursor will stick to them. File > Export Selection. mark it with CMD-B, Label it. Audacity doesn't do Markers. Koz

Re: Recording via Line In gets clipped at low level
That's the overload you get when you plug Line Level Stereo into the Mic-In of your computer. Did you pick the Blue Connection? That's usually Line-In. I can't see a picture clear enough to tell.
