Re: High and Low Pass filter settings for VO
The grownups wouldn't think of recording voices without the 100Hz High Pass Filter. Variations include 80, 100, 120. The sound gets tighter and more restrictive as you go up. Rumbley bass voices will fight with 120 Hz. There is no low pass filter. If you have interference in the mid or high portions...

That peels off mains hum and other low frequency effects, but it's a heck of a start. Koz

Oh, that's handy, isn't it? Modify from there as needed.

Re: Live Music Editing Tips?
For logging, there are a couple of options. If you're sitting in the middle of a live performance and you're not the performer, write down the real time at the top of each song. Just look at your cellphone and write down the number. 17:35 Proud Mary. Do this when you start the recording and you have...

Re: Level all songs
If you're doing a '"Mix Tape" of multiple artists and bands and dates, you may never get there. Newer performers produce much more dense, loud and highly produced shows than they did in earlier days. Older music is always going to sound wimpy compared to some of the newer stuff. Production...

Re: Problem with Berhinger UCA 202 and Korg Krome Synth
Don't confuse the thunderous, rock-crushing maximum possible volume with the volume you're most likely to use day after day. "normal" volumes pop along nicely at -10 or so and the only spec you need to worry about is if both units can handle that, and I think we're covered. Do you have the...

Re: Voice change after recording
Is the speed the same? Does the duration of the show match? I'm betting not. A common problem is to have the show pitch go up when the computer can't go fast enough to record the sound well. It drops pieces here and there and when you play back the show, the missing pieces can appear as a speeded up...
