Oh, wait this is a common one. Go into Audacity Preferences and turn off Playthroughs.

Re: Audio is making a weird noise after I export it.
That's almost the exact symptom of running a USB microphone through a USB hub.
Did I hit it?
Stop doing that. USB Audio demands home runs.

Re: Echo removal?
No. There isn't. You just turned your recording studio into an unusable fashion statement. I've been known to postpone a recording session because I couldn't get access to the carpeted conference rooms. All is not lost. Some people at work record in a closet and put quilts and blankets on the walls....

Re: improving voice quality
I got a slight improvement in cristpness with an equalizer curve (attached), but Audacity can't do forensics. We can't do the cops and robbers TV show trick of opening trash and magically making it better. The sampling is very poor and in addition to the other problems. Effect > Equalization. Click ...

And my colours don't look anything like that, either. We'll be looking at that closely later. Koz

Re: Help when stopping the recording.
While the recording is happening, you should see the red recording meters bounce like this: http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/Audacity1_record.jpg and the blue waves should build themselves left to right. If you don't get those two during the recording, then you're not getting a show. You can put Audac...

Re: Converting one MP3 file to 20 individual MP3 files.
I'm in Los Angeles. I'll see how much gas/petrol I have. I'm going to try and talk you out of using Audacity. Audacity does not edit MP3 files. It converts MP3 into a very high quality internal format and then makes a whole new MP3 when it's done. The down side of doing that is the sound damage alwa...

Re: Reason for weak input signal during recording?
A bass guitar pickup will generate enough electrical power to light a small village. Something is really wrong.
Do you remember which soundcard input you used? Did you need adapters to connect?
Did you use the bass guitar pickup raw, or one of the outputs of your bass amp?

Re: trying to remove echo....o...o...o...
Oh, cool. Is that a prayer chant? It sounds like an enormous stadium or city square. Do you have pictures? I'm dancing around telling you the echoes are permanent. I know of no way to remove echoes, and your echoes are the worst I've ever heard. The performance area is very live -live -live -live. C...
