It's easy to be too close to the problem to see the obvious.
What are you recording? Nowhere in that otherwise excellent description is a note of what the job is and how it's connected.
Oh, yes. Newer Windows machines can be a little magic.

Re: Regular buzz on the line
It's easy to get sound routing all turned around. We should probably wait for one of the Windows people to help. If your testing tools don't work right, then you may just go round and round in circles.for some reason I cannot play through the laptop internal speakers for testing purposes.

Re: No audio input from Korg Zero 4
Apple (upper left) > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Input. Does your device appear in that list? Select it and see if the bouncing blue ball sound meter works. If not, then the device may be broken. Audacity is a slave to whatever the computer is doing. If the computer has no sound, you sho...

Re: Red lines (Bars) in Audion Track
Right. The sound is too loud and it's causing overload distortion. There should be a volume slider next to the microphone symbol. What happens if you turn that down? Will it turn down?

Re: Regular buzz on the line
Did you run out of USB ports on your computer and decide to use a USB hub? Normally, this is a terrific idea, but audio doesn't much like going through hubs with other equipment like keyboard and mouse.

Re: Which one is better
I think the chance of someone owning both is zero. Why would you buy the second one? Almost all the units in this price range do an OK job and it's your task to match up the features with what you want to do. If only one of them supplies 48v Phantom Power and your microphone needs that, then there y...
Re: No Sound
If you have waving blue lines and the green playback meters throb, then you have a show whether or not you can hear it. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/Audacity1_playback.jpg Where are you listening? Built-in speakers? Change Audacity Preferences so the playback system is pointing to your built-in so...

Re: Can't hear voice while recording
How are you listening? Where are your headphones plugged in? When Windows sees a USB device plugged in, it sometimes assumes that sound needs to go both ways, record-from and play-to. Not all interfaces will do that. Did you save your work? If you have blue waves and bouncing green playback meters, ...

Re: LATENCY CORRECTION USB GUITAR LINK asio
I think I slowly got this. What happens if you plug your guitar pickup directly into the GuitarLink? Is the headphone feed still late? Did you turn off the Audacity Playthrough settings?
