One more. Total Recorder can do that as well.
We used to recommend FreeCorder, but they started to mess with the software and include non-desirable features.

The premiere way to do this is with Pamela Professional or Pamela Business software. http://www.pamela.biz/en/products/ The two lesser versions are intentionally cripple to make you buy the better versions. Pamela will produce a split left and right track so you can filter and apply effects to one v...

Re: Recording from microphone only
Any ideas? Certainly. You want the standard Overdubbing configuration. Track one (for example) plays cleanly into your headphones and Audacity will create a new clean track with your microphone. This can fall apart if you like to run your headphones at ear-splitting volume. Your head will leak soun...

Windows computers come with "Enhanced Services" which try to configure your voice for Skype. If you don't happen to be using Skype, this service can make your music into trash.

Re: Karaoke plugin?
We also tell people that if you follow the recommendations in that YouTube video, you will have success, too, if you use exactly the same song they did. It's very song and quality dependent. That clip I posted did make the lead singer vanish, but the stereo echo effects on his voice were not in the ...

Re: Need Opinion Regarding Recording Quality
If you get what you want from your adjustments then that's what you should do. We can only recommend specific changes based on a sound sample that you give us. There is no "Make It Better" filter. What you've been doing seems reasonable. This is the magic place where saving the original re...

Re: No input jack on new iMAC
There was a version of iMac that could switch one connection between Stereo In and Stereo Out. I think it said so in: Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound. From here I get fuzzy since I don't have one of those, but there was a selector where you could pick the direction. The very newest Mac...

Re: I MESSED UP BAD!!! HELP
The original project name is burned into the AUP file. They will not open up as copies. Clean up your experiment to avoid conflicts (if needed) and rename both back to the original names and the show should open.
