Re: Recordi Audio From VOB File
Edit > Preferences > Libraries If Audacity volunteers to find FFMpeg for you, you didn't install it or Audacity simply couldn't find it. I think you miss an important piece of this. The audio doesn't have to be embedded in the Video Object (VOB) file. You can also have it as part of the AUDIO_TS (tr...

Re: Joining Mp3 Files...
I would select files, put them in the order I want and the files would merge/join. You're right. I can't do it, either. I don't believe Windows can do it. What program were you running? Given how sensitive Windows Media is to copy protection, it has to be an outside program. There was a Feature Req...

See? A couple of model numbers and we're good to go.There is also an input level on the Yamaha AudioGram3 that needs to be set correctly.

Re: Weird Problem
To cut to the final act, Effect > Normalize > Remove DC. Don't let the tool do anything else. But if the problem is happening after you move the files, then fixing it on the original computer won't do you any good.

Re: Weird Problem
And it's not doing that on the original machine? That's "DC Offset." There are non-audio voltages running around inside your soundcard needed to run the electronics. That's normal. These voltages never appear in the show, but that's what they look like when they do. You can't hear that, bu...

Re: Recording a Narration
I wish the illustration wasn't quite so complicated looking. It looks like a cast of thousands, when in reality is was a mic, mixer, two headphones and a Mac. The coffee cups, papers and trash are, of course, endemic to any sound shoot. We had to get out of the room right after the shoot, so I didn'...

Re: Recording a Narration
Here's a soundshoot I did for one of our producers. It was a double-ender where each side records the speaker in terrifically high quality and then they call each other on the phone. After the interview, one side sends the high quality sound file to the other miles away for marriage into the final s...

Re: Recording a Narration
I was really hoping someone would say 'record your voice then compress it and normalize it and send it through such and such a filter Oh, you want the "Professional Audio Filter." It's a popular idea. Fictional, but popular. Maybe if you pointed to someone you like and posted a segment of...
