Re: recording two channels at once...sperately
If you are recording in stereo And that's the big deal. I can't get the instructions for the interface, but if it's a FastTrack or a FastTrack Pro, there's a good chance there are no pan controls -- or even that they work in stereo. They may not. But yes, the major problem with recording both track...

Re: Attempting to Record LFN.. Help!
One of the problems with doing these sorts of measurements is calibrating the sound chain. For one example, RS is making conclusions about the sound capture using the built-in speakers of an iMac. The iMacs I've used have terrible speakers for just music and are completely out of their league for lo...

Re: Problem with continuous recording
It may not be the one inside Vista or Win7, but that's what it is. The system senses any constant sound for over a set number of seconds (like a sustained note) and thinks it's air conditioning noise and tries to cancel it out. So you get to dig in your conferencing, communications of possibly Skype...

Re: trouble recording from new widows 8
This is where using the instruments comes in handy. If you see no bouncing red recording meters and only get a flat blue wave, then you're not getting any sound. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/Audacity1_record.jpg What you are getting is several minutes of perfectly recorded silence. Unlike compress...

If you have a clean SpongeBob track, import it as a second track underneath the music. Then use the Time Shift Tools and Copy/Paste to create multiple SpongeBobs and push them where ever they're needed. Both tracks will play at the same time unless you tell them not to with the MUTE and SOLO buttons...

I assume it can be done easily. I'd probably stop doing that. You posted in a part of the forum where we can tell nothing about your computer or anything else. So fill us in. You have a Lenovo ThinkPad 17" Laptop and your TV is a Sony Bravura 72" flat screen with headphone output? Koz

I almost got that. You have a "Y" cable but the speakers get one thing and the computer gets something else?
Which mixer have you got? Model numbers are good. I've seen mixers that have mixed performance output and hard-wired outputs for each turntable. Do you have one of those?

There is no User/local...
There is a /Users... and a /usr/local...
I remember there was some serious discussion of where those two (MP3 and FFMpeg) files were and where they seemed to be. I know they appear to let you put them anywhere, but that doesn't work.

Re: Best way to track out shows recorded from my Tascam Dr-4
You didn't say what the format was, but if Audacity can't deal with them, you may need to install the FFMpeg software. http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=FAQ:Installation_and_Plug-Ins#installffmpeg Also, you should purposefully avoid capturing compressed files (AAC, MP3) in the Tascam. T...

Open the large master files in Audacity (one at a time) and place a Label at the beginning of each song. Control-B?? My computer is going to be different from yours. Tracks > Add Label. Audacity doesn't "scan" in real time, but you can use the magnifier tools to zoom into and out at about ...
