Oh, good. Another wiring standard. Where's my razor blade? I have a vein that needs opening.
What happens to the voltages if you tell the system that you want Stereo Line-In configuration rather than Mic-In?

Re: Recording 2 things at once/muting channels
(the "phantom" voltage) That's the polarizing voltage. Phantom has to do with the voltage delivery method. causing fluctuations that are detected as tiny currents by the sound device, in this case the sound card. That's greatly simplified, but condenser elements create variations in volta...

Re: Help with Behringer Mixer!!
I wondered. Pull one of the RCAs out of the UCA200 and jam your earbud connector into the end of the cable like this: http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/earBudsRCA.jpg You're listening to the mixer. Play something. Hear it? If it's dead silence, then there may not be anything coming from the mix...

Start > My Computer > right-click C: > Properties. I may have that wrong. I'm not near my Windows machine...

I'm at full stop. Are you sure it's a Behringer UCS200? Point to a web page.

Make sure you're recording from your USB mixer and not from Stereo Mix or one of the other Self-Recording devices. Edit > Preferences > Devices > Recording You may have to set this in Windows Control Panels as well. Also: Edit > Preferences > Recording > [_] Playthrough (de-select) Edit > Preference...

Re: Obtaining an instrumental from two samples
You didn't say whether they were MP3 sound files. They are, right? No two MP3 files are ever identical, so that kills the cancellation trick right there. MP3 changes file structure according to content. Even in the background music started out identical, just having an additional flute in one and no...

Re: Record Mic and Computer Sound Simultaneously
Audacity just makes do with the existing sound pathways. You need a program that makes new ones like Krystal Audio Engine.
