Re: microphone installation

At the risk of hiding behind technicalities, if Windows can't find the mic, Audacity will never figure it out. Audacity is a slave to the Operating System. I didn't go through the whole operating manual, but I believe you that the light is supposed to change colors. Close Audacity. Plug the mic in, ...

Re: Stereo to Mono Conversion Issue

Conversion to mono just adds up the two tracks and divides by two (to keep from overloading and distorting). The parts that vanished are out of phase -- usually through a wiring accident, so when left and right are added up, the result is zero. Divide by two and it gets even worse. You should pay at...

Re: how to separate songs

Most CD Players including the software ones have skip, scan, and repeat buttons. To repeat a song, press "Back" once and the song will repeat from the beginning.

Re: Window upper left corner offscreen--app unusable

This is pretty unusual, so it's possible your screen and the screen preferences are out of sync.

Apple (upper left) > System Preferences > Display > 1920 x 1080 (Make sure this matches your actual display)

Re: Window upper left corner offscreen--app unusable

Control-Click (right-click if you have that) once on the Audacity icon in the dock > Hide. Then click again > Show.

It's a Mac thing, not an Audacity thing.

Stop telling people you have bad English. We have zero trouble understanding you and what errors there are, you can put down to fat fingers on a cellphone.

Re: High Pass Filter disappeared

The effects below the Apple ones are special, separate files and can go missing. They're not a native part of the program.

Re: Screeching playback

You need to fill in the blanks. Say I'm going to go out and buy your computer and the equipment you used. What would I buy?

How did you connect the tape machine to the computer?

Re: Why is it "rerecording".

You might restart Audacity if you make that many changes and see if the changes "stick."

Re: Why is it "rerecording".

1. You must be recording a real, physical device like Mic-In or a USB Microphone and not a Self-Recording device like Stereo-Mix. Edit > Preferences > Devices > Recording > "USB Audio Device" (for example) 2. Edit > Preferences > Recording > [_] Playthrough (de-select) Did that help? Koz
