Re: ACX CHECK-FFMPEG ISSUE
Audacity thought you wanted to open ACX-Check.ny as a music file. If you're in Audacity 2.4.2, this should work. Audacity > Tools > Nyquist Plug-in Installer... Point it at ACX-Check.ny and OK. I included the latest ACX Check . There are two now. ACX-Check.ny After it's done, you'll probably have to...

Re: Missing audio files
Can all of these music files be recovered? You can play all the little 6-second sound files, yes, but the AUP file contains the instructions for putting them back together into a show. Sometimes it may be possible to use the file time and date stamps and a lot of luck to put the shows back together...

Re: 45->33 conversion (or alternate sample rate)
Is this even a workable idea? I wouldn't. As Steve above, music on a record is not straight, plain, and flat. It's intentionally distorted with the RIAA compensation—high sounds boosted and low ones suppressed. The boosting and suppressing would move too. That's one difference between "Line-In...

If you really offended the sound angels, what you had before was broken.
Did you produce the sound file? Does it happen with a much smaller file, or even an hour-long file that you made as a test?

Re: Audacity Mastering Process for ACX
I am however just noticing that the low hum is more in recordings done during the daytime Post a raw daytime sound test. If it is wall power hum, there are special tools designed to suppress it. You may have hit a really awkward problem. The goal is to have all the sounds through a whole book match...

Re: We need UNeffects! Like effects but backwards
I just recorded 3 episodes for my podcast with a bunch of movie trailer effects I was trying out just for fun. I had NO IDEA they would be permanently set for all my future recordings! If you were setting payback affects in Windows, then they would be applied to everything but only during playback....

You get the Spinning Beachball when the Mac is taking longer to do a job than it thinks it should. What else do you have running? How many little lights or markers do you have under apps in the dock? Did you start using iCloud for storage? Desktop > Go > Utilities > Activity Monitor > CPU. Any appli...

Re: Audacity Mastering Process for ACX
That makes me want to run right out to get a bottle or two of rich, creamy............. I don't hear anything wrong with that and it easily passes ACX specifications after simple mastering. Screen Shot 2020-08-18 at 4.54.44 AM.png What did you find wrong? You're not supposed to go diving for noise. ...

Re: Undo effects in an already saved file?
There was another audio editor a while back which had a project format that never forgot. As you found, it was insanely handy, but the almost universal complaint was that the projects were enormous. Audacity Projects do not save UNDO and the instant you close Audacity it starts over. Echo and reverb...
