Re: HELP!! MONITORING AND RECORDING CUTS OUT AFTER 30 SECOND
I plug my guitar into Line In Are you sure you have a Line-In? Most Windows Laptops don't. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PCLaptopSound.jpg The pink one is Mic-In. It's not stereo and it's easily overloaded and creates damaged sound. Your machine might have a Line-In. You have to know to pa...

Re: Echo during playback
Try turning off "Windows Concert Hall Effects." I got stuck with a machine set that way once and it took me almost an hour to figure out I wasn't doing anything wrong. Koz

Re: Better recording quality if Mac on battery power?
While it's a safe bet the further you can get from the mains the better, I noticed that all my top important recordings were made on mains power and it didn't make any noticeable difference at all. Those Mac adapters are pretty good at filtering out noise. You can still get into trouble on a stage w...

This is a work in progress sound file. I do my show until I get stuck. It doesn't take long. Koz

Re: Audio sounds great in Audacity, but not as WAV.
There is a "de-esser" tool. The contact info is buried in this post. Scroll about 2/3 down. This poster has some of the same problems you do.

Re: Audio sounds great in Audacity, but not as WAV.
Please don't double and triple post. Posts are moderated and delayed on purpose. But now as I save the file as WAV the hum is still there? Did you try to save the clean work as the same filename as the original? Try a new filename. Also...any guide for reducing hiss ... in speech? Hiss is very diffi...

Re: HOW TO RECORD FROM AUDACITY FROM MIXER
Sound from a mixer is usually white and red not yellow and red. Yellow is usually video. What is the label on mixer? Line Out, Left and Right? Tape Out, Left and Right? What is the connection on the laptop? Mic-In? Is there a picture of a microphone? http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PCLaptopSo...

Re: Record Mic and Computer Sound Simultaneously
OK, your Behringer 802 is a tiny version of my mixer and it has an effects send (the red knobs). I have record with a band before (as a musician, definitely not as a sound engineer) and we had TONS of tracks recording at once. No doubt they were set up for multi-track recording, and by set up, I mea...

Re: Record Mic and Computer Sound Simultaneously
any luck with what you tried? No, and for some silly reasons. I couldn't get Skype to behave on the transmit audio . The mixed, completed show sounded terrific in Los Angeles, but my guest said I sounded horribly distorted in New Jersey. You can't do an interview that way, so I have to figure out w...

Re: Match audio levels between two track of the same speech
I didn't hear any difference. We we listening to the performance after you got done with it? We warn people not to do that because our first task is to take you out before we put us in. In any event, nobody I know is going to be able to tell the difference between those two. I was expecting shifting...
