Re: Does normalizing require upconverting to preserve qualit

Audacity converts everything to internal format. It's whatever sample rate you picked in preferences (44100, 48000) and 32-Floating bit depth. A very common Export complaint is the slight noise that Audacity generates when it converts from 32-Float back to your desired output format. So I probably w...

Re: input signal problems

What is the computer exactly and how are you getting between your external sound services and the computer? I mean exactly how. Tape out of the mixer or balanced to unbalanced adapter to the Stereo Line-In of the computer? Are you absolutely sure you're recording from your actual physical device lik...

Re: Integration with Ableton Live

It would take a week to dig through the Abelton promotional works. What does Abelton say it needs or is expecting?

Re: Time Shift Glitch

Just reading over that. There's a fine shade of difference leading to maybe three Latencies. Machine Latency is the amount of time the machine takes to return your own live voice to you. That's pretty much fixed and cannot be changed with simple adjustments. Change the software, yes, change the driv...

If I open the file as "Raw Data," I get a four second white noise "show."

Re: Help needed: Can't open .caf files any more?

Nope. Crashes for me, too. It's instructive that if you right-click (control-click) the sound file > Open With > Other > Audacity (Application) > "Audacity" is gray. So the system knows this is not a compatible combination, even with the FFMpeg software installed. Do you have your iPad and...
