Re: buzz in exported mp3 file
Right this second, I have no idea at all. Does it do that if you Export as WAV (Microsoft 16-bit PCM)? Sometimes I use the gun technique. If somebody has a gun and said I had to intentionally make that damage, how would I do it. Heck if I know. You see during the first four seconds, the blue waves a...

Re: buzz in exported mp3 file
AUP is not a sound file. It's an Audacity project manager. It's a text file.

Re: clean up old audio
It sounds exactly like multi-path distortion from an FM radio. Noise Removal only works on noise or sound that is low level and constant over the course of the show: air conditioning noise, computer fan noise, mild microphone hum. How were you planning on getting rid of it manually? Anything that di...

Re: How to lower input volume from Sound Blaster
Do you have one of those little female to female 1/8" adapters? http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102697&locale=en_US Substitute your earbuds for the Blaster. So your Phono Preamp is feeding your earbuds instead of the Blaster. Does that still sound OK, or is it massive...

Re: Edit like audition?
Every time you import audio, it forms a new track. Use the Time Shift Tool (two sideways black arrows) to push the clip around to where you need it. You can use all the volume tools and/or the envelope tool to integrate the effect. Audacity mixes down to one single track when you export. You can cre...

Re: Can't turn off playback
You're recording the wrong thing. Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Devices > Recording > Device. You should be recording your USB device, not Stereo-Mix, Internal Microphone, or anything else. "USB Sound Device" or something like that? It may not say the name of your mixer. Also, Audacity >...

Re: Stupid questions by7 this newbie
Zoom is your friend. Play the show (or skip around by clicking in the ruler above the blue waves). When you get close to where you want to inspect, Spacebar stop the playback and drag-select a portion of the show around where you stopped. Then zoom in with Control-E. Then do it again until you get d...

Re: buzz in exported mp3 file
Does it happen with more than one show? Post a sample of the noise on the forum.
