Re: Strange problem with mult-track recording
If you have a sound track pounding away and nobody can hear it, it's almost certainly a cancellation problem. Download and play this test sound clip. It's really short. 39 seconds. http://www.kozco.com/tech/LRMonoPhase4.wav It's in four segments. I bet you're going to be missing one of the four -- o...

I don't know how many user forums you've posted on, but it usually takes days to get an answer. We usually hit it within a bunch of hours, if that.Well, it seems that I'm not going to get a reply.
I need to go back and read through that. It's good you included that detail. We like detail.

Re: No Editing Options
Which Audacity are you using? The earlier Audacity had a Mode where you could make a "Simple" Audacity and it would defeat some of the tools. I'm looking.... Koz

Re: New iMac & Audacity Troubles!
That's just an interface. Turn the analog microphone into digital, and we're done. Real mixers have the ability to pan a microphone anywhere between all the way left to all the way right -- effectively creating a stereo show with a single microphone on left and right. This is the pan control on one ...

Re: SOS - Undeleted Files not Recognized
Did you Export the work as regular sound files like MP3 or WAV, or did you Save an Audacity Project? If you saved a Project, then you need one file and one folder for each show. It's terrifically important to know what the structure is. Audacity saves an AUP file which is a text file that tells Auda...

Re: Nothing happens when I right click on speaker
Which speaker? The one in Windows or the one in Audacity?
In both cases, the speaker symbol is a shortcut. In Windows Audacity, Edit > Preferences > Devices. In WIndows, Start > Control Panel > Sound or Audio.

Re: Editing Live Music
I am trying to polish up. That's a variation on "I need to clean up...." I suspect the conversations are permanent performers in your show. There are no good ways to split actors, singers, or musicians apart in post production. The talkers are not "noise." Noise, in Audacity Lan...

One more. The show is the right length? If you record an hour, you get an hour show, but portions are silent?

Re: Sound vanishes during recording
I like to change the Audacity default presentation by making the bouncing sound meters much larger. They're very much more important than you would believe by the tiny default size. Click on the right edge of the meters and pull to the right. The meters will get bigger and easier to see. http://kozc...
