Re: Advice finding the right microphone
The camera is no longer made, so that's not a plus. At the risk of starting down a two week design path for a 24-hour deadline, somebody is making a shotgun microphone that will plug into a "computer" soundcard. I don't remember who. I think the camcorder will supply 5 volts at the Mic-In ...

Since I've upgraded my system From what to what? Which soundcard are you using? Nobody is going to throw awards at PC soundcards for high quality unless you specifically bought them that way and paid extra. Most built-in soundcards are just enough to make a Skype call... http://www.kozco.com/tech/a...

Re: in-coming sound of phone call hard to recognize
You are recording the outgoing voice. There is no provision in most software to record the incoming voice. That comes under the provision of many state's (in the case of the US) wiretapping laws. Anybody who gets any "far" voice at all is usually recording the headset leakage, bone conduct...

Re: help getting rid of buzzing on audio
The blast of damage at 5.7 seconds (the buzz) does respond to notch filtering, but it's a moving target. The beginning of the damage seems to hover around 200, 400, and 600, whereas the end seems to favor 250, 500, and 750. After applying all these notches, I still had periodic damage around 220 Hz....

Re: Can i remove this kind of noise?
No, there's too much going on. The buzz at the beginning is different from the buzz at the end and all the noises are exactly the same as the guy talking.
If we wait, maybe one of the other elves wants to take a crack at it.

Re: Can i remove this kind of noise?
I think I'm giving up. Buzzes are really hard. They tend to sound like human voices, so anything you do to the buzz makes voices sound funny. That and there are two different buzzes in there. I know it sounds like only one, but I needed two different tools to find all the distortion and even then I ...
