Re: Can't Record Over Music Track - Yeti / Windows 8.1 / Audacity 2.4.2
This isn't as easy as I thought it was going to be. The Yeti sales literature has you setting up on the kitchen table and cranking out award-winning performances by lunchtime. You are the Performer, Recording Engineer, and Producer. If you ever wondered what those people do, we are about to find ou...

Re: Can't Record Over Music Track - Yeti / Windows 8.1 / Audacity 2.4.2
The setup for overdubbing has you performing a plain, simple recording from the microphone and then a plain simple playback to your headphones. If you can't do that, then combining the two at the same time will drive you nuts. Modern computers have little interesting hidden adjustments that can also...

Re: Recording audio from computer in high quality?
I don't hear any great difference between the two, but you should know that recording what's playing on the computer can have some surprising problems. Some techniques record everything from all sound pathways including computer speaker and microphone. You are running both the playback system and th...

Re: How can we use "Change Pitch" to adjust pitch a little bit?
I guess I have to use pitch change to correct pitch error of the sax solo? I think you're stuck. I wonder how you got that performance? Sax's don't have pitch judgement. You either hit the note or you don't. If the performer didn't hit the notes, then you're in serious disaster recovery. Depending ...

Re: exporting/importing
keep all thr tracks in one file Is the real goal to start at the beginning and have it play to the end but still let you edit and manage the individual songs? I think insisting that it be one huge file is a mistake. You may run into another problem, too. Chances are good you will not be able to com...

Re: exporting/importing
One of Audacity's "problems" is that it immediately converts the incoming show to its own super high quality sound format. It does that so you can apply effects, filters and corrections without causing any accidental damage. That means the show is enormous while it's inside Audacity and if...

Re: How can we use "Change Pitch" to adjust pitch a little bit?
Change Speed is the one to use if you can. That changes everything, pitch and duration, but has little or no sound damage. Change Pitch rips the sound apart tries to change only the pitch without affecting anything else and then smashes it all back together and hopes for the best. That's the one wit...

Re: self-defined Macro: How to add ENTER? How to assign Shortcut key?
I'm pretty sure Macros can't do conditional branching. There is no IF the program asks you something, DO that. I think it's the same problem people have automating Noise Reduction. Current Noise Reduction is in two steps, but you can only automate one of them. https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/mac...

I suppose the first item is the version. The current version is 2.4.2. Versions from other makers may change the numbers around a bit. Those are different programs.Audacity 2.42
How? That step is the most likely to cause problems.converted it to .mp3

Re: Can't open files
You're supposed to "Import" sound files.
You can open Projects or you can make them open themselves by double clicking on the project AUP file.
