Re: How do I make a cut and delete everything behind it?

And this may be a good time to remind you that Audacity Projects, even as they save cursor positions, clip status, track numbers, etc, etc, will not save UNDO. Once you close an Audacity Project, Audacity will clean the UNDO information. It is a good practice to never step on or damage original work...

Re: Recording Voice on Different Days, audio uneven

Chris's Compressor is an all-in one compression tool whose purpose is to even out volume variations. http://theaudacitytopodcast.com/chriss-dynamic-compressor-plugin-for-audacity/ I use it to even out volume variations in a talk show so I can listen in the car without constantly turning the player u...

Re: Stereo to mono

The behavior of a mono track is to play to both speakers. If that makes you nervous, you can duplicate the track you have. Select the track by clicking just above the Mute button and Edit > Duplicate and then using the same little drop-down, Make Stereo Track. It will not actually be stereo. It will...

Re: Recording sounds like it's recorded twice

Almost certainly not. There is no fix for double recording, echoes and reverb that you didn't want. You didn't say the first portion of the performance worked. That's a lot more interesting. Is this a USB headset? It's a full-on headset, right, microphone and one or two ear muffs? Did you plug in th...

Re: Numark Mixdeck Recording Help

I assume the mixdesk is connected to the computer with a USB cable? That's going to be the control system and it would be most unusual for it to carry audio. On the other hand, the Mic-In of your computer doesn't carry plain audio, either. It's looking for a mono microphone of extremely low level. h...

Re: 2 Mics that i am confused?

The NT1 does not appear to have switchable high-pass filter and volume attenuator. If that's important to you then it's the SE-X1. I know someone who has an NT1 and they like it very much.

I do admit a leaning toward a microphone with "sex" in the title.

Re: Raw Import Help for very old files

You tried the usual suspects, Open With > QuickTime Player or iTunes. Did they say anything past "Unable to recognize." Did you get the file plus the Resource Fork and the other stuff that Mac used to put in the background? http://mac.downloadatoz.com/play-sound/ Play Sound is a simple, no...

Re: How to record sound thro mic in windows 7

People would kill for a software product that would allow recording a theatrically perfect performance in a noisy room. It's one of the reasons we still do this: microphoneNewsCluster.jpg You still need to get the top-quality microphone and the performer together and hope there are no dogs barking o...
