I just tried that and I go a whole forest of spikes.
You are drag-selecting a portion of the damages blue waves, right?
I'm not on my home machine, so I can't do illustrations.

Re: Vacuum Tube Amplifier Equalization/Settings
Each of those dots on the curve is a control point. Click and drag. Watch the frequencies along the bottom and the gain numbers down the left. The blue/green line is a rubber band. The design center is to make the music less forward and harsh. You might like it. If you get totally flummoxed, I think...

Re: FFT spectrum graph missing harmonics
Increase the Size number in the Spectrum tool. There is no optimum setting. Too high and your information gets lost in a blizzard of spikes. Too low and it misses some significant data.

Re: Old Turntable Suddenly Won't Record Into Audacity
When did you get your new laptop? Plugging into the headphone connection of the laptop should never have worked. Your old laptop must have had a Stereo Line-In. That would have worked very well. That's the blue connection if you're counting. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/soundCardFinal2.jpg...

Re: Can't get Audacity to record in MONO with a Scarlet 2i2

There is no provision that I can tell for changing the USB character. Audacity has Split To Mono in the menus on the left of the track. After it splits, you j...

Re: Can't get Audacity to record in MONO with a Scarlet 2i2
Aggregate Device smashes two USB sound devices together. In general you don't want that unless you really need to record from two USB microphones at once. The bitstream presented to Audacity and the stream Audacity is expecting have to match. The exact opposite problem is trying to record a mono USB...

Re: Vacuum Tube Amplifier Equalization/Settings
The top quality Techniques turntable and Shure M44 cartridge may have a lot to say about the sound of the system. Yes, that robust vacuum tube sound. You should start combing Google for a VST plugin that already does the transfer curves and characteristics for you. It's not Move a Slider and you're ...
