Re: Getting Started
Import Raw sounds like a really cool process, but in fact it fails almost 100% of the time. So that's not a good way out. You're going to have to nail this down a lot more for anybody's software to work. What exactly does your virtual DJ software require? Are you capturing internet songs for your sh...

Re: cant get audacity set up so it records
I have audacity 2.0.3, Mac 10.7.5 But what kind of computer is it? Mac's went between Motorola and Intel chips and right around then was when they stopped supporting the older chipsets. Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Input. Is your USB Turntable listed in that panel -- or some othe...

Re: Contant clicking noise help
I may know what that is. That's the damage you get when you're trying to send a USB microphone through a USB hub. The data pathways clash and create sound problems. USB Microphones always take a home run to the computer. Of course, he will never know any of this is happening, because his damage only...

Re: Save - sample rate
Yes, but. We assume you're editing an MP3 or similar sound file. When you export a new file, select options to the right of the file type window and use those settings to create your new file. But you might not want to do that. Audacity doesn't edit MP3 files. It imports them inside itself and then ...

Re: How to delete & replace an audio track on a video file.
Audacity will probably be able to rip the sound portions of the show and apply effects and corrections, but it will only create a new sound file, not a new Flash video file, or any video file. You need to have some method to marry the old video and the new audio files outside of Audacity. This is wh...

Re: Modulating percussion and piano
The fuzzy rule is you can't take a performance apart into individual instruments and voices in order to apply filters or effects. You can apply filters, but they will affect all the instruments. Could you be listening to the LP rip on a bad sound system or headphones? I have a set of cheap Sony head...

Re: HELP! Corrupt .aup file - 17750 orphaned files.
Maybe it's not the Sleep Cycle that did it. Audacity has a very firm limit on the amount of data you can smash into a Project. Audacity is not a surveillance recorder; it's not open ended. Gale or Steve will drop by with numbers, but as the quality of the work goes up, the number of hours goes down,...

Re: Need Help to Record from Home Telephone to PC
Therefore, can you instruct me on how to make a recording without setting up "projects" and/or other complications. Audacity works in Projects and allows you to make a WAV sound file or, with extra software, an MP3 of your Project. A project is just a single job or show. I have two very s...

I think the chances of getting the show back with that much damage are zero. 8GB? How long was the show?

Re: Online music collaboration
I haven't personally done this, not being much of a musician, but I have done online collaboration. I've done a double-ender radio show. One party calls the other on the phone or Skype or however you wish. They present the show or music and each side records a very high quality version of their own ...
